As a part of our photography unit at university we've had to list our 15 favourite photographers and whilst doing that I came across London based film photographer; Katie Silvester. I found it so hard to only pick 3 photos to put in my sketchbook so I naturally had to write a blog post on all of my favourite images!

The thing that really drew me into Katies work is that she can make any location look like the most perfect editorial location and that the colours in her work are so vibrant and summery. It's refreshing to see film photography that isn't so focused on pastel colours!

Majority of her work looks more like a profile on a certain model rather than a strategically staged photoshoot which I always find most interesting in photography! Everything looks and feels really natural and comfortable.

I also really love how all of the models she uses have a really youthful look to them and how she plays around and pairs the models with the perfect location to compliment their looks.

Katie has worked with the likes of; - Urban Outfitters, Girls on Film Zine, Lazy Oaf, The Whitepepper, Miss Crofton and Zeum Magazine. Her work has inspired me to stop overthinking when it comes to shooting and to go out and just have fun with photography!
